World Amateur Radio Day
What is World Amateur Radio Day?
World Amateur Radio Day is an annual celebration that takes place on April 18th. It is a day to promote the value of amateur radio and to raise awareness about the importance of radio communications in times of emergency and disaster.
Amateur Radio pioneers met in Paris in 1925 and created the IARU to support Amateur Radio worldwide. The IARU is a global organization that represents the interests of amateur radio operators around the world and works to promote the use of radio as a means of communication.
I'll be operating from my camper in Cullman, Alabama and I may even take the old Elecraft KX2 out to our local park to shake the dust out of the speaker. I have yet to try VarAC with it and this would be a good opportunity.
Thank You!
