SDRuno Hack for the Icom 7610
I stumbled upon a SDRuno hack for the Icom 7610. There was a post a while back saying that SDRuno could be used with the Icom 7610. Until lately I hadn't tried it. You may be surprised at how good it looks. Up until now I have only been using HDSDR, an excellent program. See the article, Icom 7610 HDSDR and Icom I/Q Package . SDRuno Hack
I first saw this on Groups.io. I believe Max, IK0TIX first posted it. There are a few different ways to get this working, but here is how I got it working on my Win10 PC.
- First get HDSDR working. You can see how to here.
- Copy the folder, ExtIO_IC7610 and file ExtIO_IC7610.dll to your Documents folder.
- Download and install SDRuno.
- The first time you open SDRuno (EXTIO) use the "Run as administrator" link by right-clicking on the icon.
Here are the instructions from the original poster. Thanks Max, IK0TIX:
- Install both software in your PC the 7610Extio.dll must be saved in the documents folder and in "C:\Program Files (x86)\SDRplay\SDRuno".
- Don't start SDRuno with icon on desktop. Open directory SDRuno (C:\Program Files (x86)\SDRplay\SDRuno) and search "SDRuno.EXTIO.exe"
- Launch "SDRuno.EXTIO.exe" like Administrator. When folder are opened search in the folder ic7610.dll - Max, IK0TIX.

Interesting info. However I don’t own a Icom 7610. My radio is a FT=950 any info for SDR on that radio??

Thank you for commenting here.
You would need to add a panadapter kit like this one on E-bay.
I am not sure if the dongle he is selling can be used with SDRuno, but I suspect it can. See HERE. HDSDR is very good and I have used it for a long time.

Great Video, thanks for posting it. I got as far as you did by trial and error but one thing that I can’t sort out is that when I select a particular frequency in SDR Uno or by tuning the 7610 I always get an offset and I don’t know how to get rid of it. So for example if I select 3.590.00 on the Rig then SDR Uno reads 3.592.250. Alternatively if the SDR is tuned to 3.590.00 then the 7610 reads 3.587.75. Have you had this problem and if so how did you solve it? Cheers and 73 Barry M0JOG

There must be a setting off in your software. I don’t know offhand what it could be on yours. I’ll take a closer look and post an answer as soon as I can.

So what exactly does this do? I’m assuming software control of the radio but with way more features, filtering etc…will it work for Icom IC-7300

Nice to hear from you and thank you for commenting here. It is just a way to control the radio. Personally, HDSDR and using CW skimmer is better. I have not used SDRUno in a while, but it was fun to play around with. I would like to see the Icom 7610 added to SDR Radio, now that would be something else.

i follow this instructions to the t but no go.
HDSDR will not connect using EXTio_IC7610.

I get this error.

Cannot access radio.
In what area within device manager do you see the driver?
