Elecraft K3S Big Surprise!
Big surprise after opening the Elecraft K3S! I bought this rig used off of Schulman Auctions. I love this radio, but I find it is not as easy to use or configure as the Icom 7300. Let me tell you some interesting things I found out after opening it up.

When I opened it up I found filters! None of which were configured in the radio (except for the default 2.7K), so I didn't know the additional ones were there.
Top: 400Hz CW, Middle: 2.7K SSB, Bottom: 13K FM
Buying Filters - Another Surprise!
The K3 transceiver can accommodate up to five high-performance crystal I.F. filters of different bandwidths. When buying filters, if they are 5pole, make sure to get the offset with them! I bought a couple off of Ebay, but they did not come with a offset on the filter. The 2.7Khz filter in the picture above is marked on the side (not visible in the photo). It was marked, but I did not see it initially.
The 5 pole filters are less expensive, but they were not working because the offset was not indicated on them. So I was just about ready to pull the trigger on a couple more from Inrad. A $300 expense (investment as I like to say), but before doing that I decided to guess at the offset and to my surprise, it worked!
I'll have to research more and see if I can test the filters to see what the real offset is. Any ideas?
