Getting the antenna far enough away from the camper has lowered my noise level. The converter in the camper, while plugged into shore power, is overwhelming sometimes on the lower frequencies.
So, having the antenna 70' away in a tree up 30' really helps.
Thank You!

I have something very similar that uses basically a huge slingshot and it will easily put the 12-oz weight over a 75 ft. tree! No more fishing line getting tangled and wrapped around limbs in the tree. The line is designed to slide easily over limbs and branches. If you enjoy wire antennas like I do, get this and quit wasting time and energy on wimp fishing weights, etc.
Hi Buddy,
It’s nice to hear from you and thank you for commenting here. A friend of mine out in NM talks about his like that, so I’ll have to break down and get one of those too. Thanks again and best 73!
Sherrill Tree is the arborist supply company (Vermeer affiliate) that carries the “Big Shot” to launch an 8 or 12 oz. bag up to 150+ feet in the trees. I’ve had mine about a decade now and you can depend on the rubber tubing to last and last. I can’t remember the number of times I’ve used it.
Hi David,
It’s nice to hear from you and thank you for commenting here. I’ll have to look that one up, it sounds terrific. The trees in SD are not real tall, but I’ve seen some really tall ones here in Alabama and up in Tennessee. I hope to move someday and have a few nice trees on a property I can use for antennas.
Good information and thank you again. Best 73 and DX!
