Hello, VARAC very interesting. Read the entire manual and looks like a lot of software work. Being 80 it took me about a week to get ft8 going smoothly. VARAC would probably have me pulling my hair out.

It’s nice to hear from you and thanks for commenting. I thought the same thing, it looked like there was going to me more than I wanted to handle, but after playing around with it, it’s easier than I thought. Grasping the slots was difficult at first, but now I don’t even think about them.

I got tired of FT4 and FT8 – Varac sounds much more interesting. Where I am confused (as I also used marine SSB with a Pactor modem for email with AIrmail prior to getting my General) is whether or not a pactor modem is required for VARac? Do you have e video on the complete setup – I am running an Icom 7300.
