Review of Standley Lake Regional Park and Coyote Gulch Campground
Coyote Gulch Campground Experience: Camping Near Standley Lake In Colorado (Video Below)
Since my son moved to Broomfield, CO., I've been looking for a reliable place to stay with my camper close by. If you know that area at all, you know how congested it can get in the summer. So, if you're looking to stay a few days in the area, Coyote Gulch Campground near Standley Lake Regional Park in Colorado might just be your next favorite spot. Nestled within the park’s scenic landscape, this campground offers a peaceful retreat without requiring a long drive into the mountains away from the convenience of Westminster.
The campground is well-maintained, with clean facilities and clearly marked sites that make setting up camp a breeze. Each site comes with a picnic table and fire ring, and there’s enough space between sites to give you a sense of privacy without feeling isolated. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy the crackle of a campfire under the stars while still being close enough to civilization to grab a forgotten item from a nearby store.
One of the standout features of camping at Coyote Gulch is its proximity to Standley Lake. Just a short walk or bike ride away from my campsite, the lake offers a wide range of activities that can easily fill your day. Whether you’re into kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, or just lounging by the water, there’s something for everyone. The views of the Rocky Mountains in the distance add a stunning backdrop to your outdoor adventures, making even a simple stroll along the shoreline feel special.
Another bonus is how accessible the campground is. Located in Westminster, it’s just a short drive from Denver, which makes it perfect for a quick weekend escape. You don’t have to plan a major expedition to enjoy the great outdoors here. Plus, the campground is open seasonally, typically from spring through early fall, so you have plenty of opportunities to plan your visit around the best weather.
I will stay there again!
